Hi friends – I’m checking back in after a few very hectic weeks! I turned in my last assignment at 10:30AM last Thursday and have been on Spring Break ever since. I am working on a big recap of the winter quarter, so keep an eye out for that by the end of the week.
One of my dearest friends, Sarah, flew in last Wednesday to kick off the #seattlestaycation. It was her first time in Seattle, so I was able to not only show her my go-to spots, but I also got to cross off a few things from my ever-growing Seattle bucket list 🙂
The weather last Thursday/Friday was an absolute dream. I kept stopping in the middle of the sidewalk, arms stretched wide and eyes closed to soak in the rays. I was in heaven the minute I submitted my final assignment and walked out into the sun.
On Friday, we took the bus downtown to take the Downtown Seattle/West Seattle Water Taxi across the water to Alki Beach. Turns out that the water taxi is free to UW students, so I definitely plan on taking it more this summer 🙂
Once we arrived at Alki, we hopped on over to Marination Ma Kai for happy hour. Marination Ma Kai features unique, Hawaiian-Korean fusion cuisine. There’s plenty of outdoor space, so we were able to sit right on the water to enjoy this ↓ view.
My recommendation? Definitely order the Kalbi Beef tacos. A set of 3 tacos is only $7.95 during happy hour. A steal for the quality and taste!

After we ate, we walked along the shore to enjoy the view of Alki Beach and the Seattle cityscape. In the distance, we spotted a ferry on its way to Bainbridge Island. This picture ↓ doesn’t do the view justice. I highly recommend that you see it in-person. It was incredible!
My mom is flying into town on Thursday morning, so I may end up doing this exact trip again 🙂 Hopefully the weather is just as nice when she’s here later in the week!
