Over the past two weeks, I’ve spent two separate sunsets at Golden Gardens, my new favorite spot in Seattle. Golden Gardens is essentially a stretch of beach with lots of room to sprawl out with a picnic to enjoy the ocean and breeze. It’s been absolutely beautiful recently, and I can’t help but take every chance I get to enjoy the weather!
I’ve lived in Seattle for about 8 months, and this city is quickly becoming my home. While there have certainly been periods of struggle, I can easily say that moving to Seattle was the best decision I have ever made.
Less than a year ago, I didn’t know anyone in the photo below ↓. Today, these wonderful people are quickly becoming some of my closest friends. Our cohort has really bonded since the start of the program and I feel very lucky that I was gifted 12 amazing friends (the 5 other ladies pictured are all in the program + their significant others.)
That being said, my time in Seattle and in our program is moving much faster than I ever anticipated! I want to make a better effort of capturing (for your sake and mine!) the everyday joys that come with living and studying in Seattle.
I’ve received quite a few reader emails recently asking about the program, many of them commenting on the rigor of the curriculum. I want to make sure that I am also highlighting the FUN that we have outside of our studies. Rest assured: we play almost as hard as we study 😉
Our time at Golden Gardens involved lots of delicious food, board games (Catchphrase, anyone!?), football tossing, and lively conversation. Man you guys – I’ve totally found my people and my heart feels so full after this weekend [insert hands in the air emoji].
↑ Homemade Chocolate Mousse Tart
We threw the football around and I only hit 2 people in the head. Success! :-/
↑ Feasting is what we do best
↑ Playing in the sand is so much more fun when you’re riding piggy back!
↑ Someone released dozens of balloons into the sky. Picture-worthy, but horrible for the poor animals in Puget Sound!
↑ Having one of my best friends living a few miles away has filled my life with even more joy ♥
↑ You can never go wrong with a fire pit on the beach
With that, I’m off to bed to get ready for another busy week. For all you readers (and lurkers 😉 ) out there, thank you for sticking with me despite my scarce posts. I promise to be better! XO
