Hi friends, happy Thursday! It’s probably obvious, but Just a Pinch got a little makeover the past two weeks. I finally felt comfortable enough to tinker with some of the coding on the template I purchased a few months ago. My goal was to make everything besides my posts more neutral so that your focus is on my recipes and writing. I also grouped all my posts into the categories you see at the top and so far, everything I’ve written has fit into at least one of them! Overall, I love the change and I hope you do too.
Today is an exciting day because it’s my first day as an assistant with Cooking Matters. I will help lead a 6-week nutrition education and cooking course for parents at an elementary school in SE DC. I will work with a chef and a registered dietitian to lead each class. Cooking Matters provides us with all the supplies and a handbook to help us lead each 2-hour lesson. I am thrilled to be able to help out in a small way.
On another note, things may get a little quiet around here for a few weeks. I am partially moving out of my apartment this weekend (and need to be completely out by next weekend), I’m flying to Seattle at the end of the month to visit the University of Washington and I’m also trying to finish up my graduate school applications. As much as I love, love, love blogging and cooking, I only have so much time to do it.
I’m hoping to make a pumpkin pie this weekend (←not your typical pie, I promise!) and some pumpkin bars, and then I promise I’ll jump off the pumpkin bandwagon. And speaking of pumpkin, anyone carving pumpkins in the next few weeks for Halloween? I’m hoping to squeeze that in at some point, too!
Enjoy the rest of your day…it’s almost Friday, yay!
