A few weekends ago, Danielle, Steph and I decided to spend our Saturday mornings doing yoga on The National Mall. There’s nothing quite like vinyasa-ing to the Washington Monument, right? 😉
This free event was organized by Lululemon and led by yoga instructor Mimi Rieger. It coincided with the Cherry Blossom Festival so the foot traffic around that area was a lot crazier than normal! I’m sure the tourists got a kick out of 3,000 people doing Warrior II.
I took a more relaxed approach to this event, but there were some serious yogis there! My mouth hung open as I watched them ‘warm up’ with headstands and Astavakrasana.
Despite a few sound issues, I enjoyed the session. The wind and uneven ground made my already-poor-balance even worse, but I was able to nail Bakasana (crow pose!)
Take that, crow pose!
